The Story Yard Sale headlines the festivities, joined by two cherished fundraisers: the Story Woman’s Club Biscuits and Gravy Fundraiser and the Story Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Fundraiser Lunch. Whether you’re hunting for unique finds, savoring home-cooked meals, or simply soaking up small-town charm, Story invites you to join the fun and experience the warmth of this mountain community.

A Special Thanks to Our Sponsors

This year’s events are made possible with the generous support of Everett’s Tunnel Inn and Beyond the Edge Landscaping. Their commitment to Story’s vibrant community spirit helps bring these beloved traditions to life, fostering connection and celebration for all who attend. We’re grateful for their contributions, which ensure that June 1st is a day to remember in Story, Wyoming.

Start Your Day with Biscuits and Gravy

Kick off your treasure-hunting at the 24th Annual Story Woman’s Club Biscuits and Gravy Fundraiser, held from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (or until sold out) at 28 North Piney Rd, the Woman's Club building. Hosted by the Story Woman’s Club, this delicious tradition features the “Famoose” biscuits and gravy from the Waldorf A’Story, paired with Victoria Mitchell Sarokon’s legendary cinnamon buns. It’s the perfect fuel for a morning of bargain hunting, and every bite supports the club’s community initiatives. Arrive early, these treats are known to sell out fast!

Lunch with Local Heroes

When midday hunger calls, make your way to the Story Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) Annual Fundraiser Lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or until supplies last) at 14 Crooked St. The SVFD will be grilling up classic hamburgers and hot dogs, offering a hearty meal and a chance to support Story’s brave volunteers. This family-friendly event is a great way to thank our local heroes while enjoying a relaxed lunch in the heart of town. Donations are appreciated, with all proceeds supporting the fire department’s vital work.

A Day of Connection and Charm

The yard sale and fundraisers weave together to create a day brimming with Story’s signature hospitality. As you stroll from sale to sale, you’ll be surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Bighorn Mountains, with deer and wild turkeys often adding a touch of wilderness to the scene. It’s a chance to slow down, swap stories with neighbors, and feel like part of the community, even if just for a day.

Take time to explore Story’s cozy charm, grab a coffee or snack at the Story Store, or head to nearby Bighorn Mountain trails for a post-event hike with breathtaking views. By participating in the day’s events, you’re supporting local causes that strengthen this tight-knit town.

Plan Your Visit

Story is just five miles west of Interstate 90, between Sheridan and Buffalo, making it an easy stop for travelers exploring northern Wyoming. The yard sale spans the town, with parking available along roadsides, follow the signs and crowds to find the action. Bring cash, as many vendors and fundraisers may not accept cards, and pack a reusable bag for your finds.

For the fundraisers, plan to arrive early:

  • Biscuits and Gravy Fundraiser: 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. (until sold out), 28 North Piney Rd.

  • SVFD Lunch Fundraiser: 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (until sold out), 14 Crooked St.
