The Story of StoryWyoming.org

Every stream has a story—it begins in stillness, moves with purpose, and shapes the land as it flows.
Every stream has a story—it begins in stillness, moves with purpose, and shapes the land as it flows.

Let me take a few minutes to tell you the story behind StoryWyoming.org.

Now, this isn’t about me—it never has been. This website isn’t about building a brand, pushing an agenda, or trying to get attention. It’s about something way more important: our community. It’s about the people who call Story, Wyoming home—the families, the artists, the veterans, the retirees, the business owners, the volunteers, and even the part-time visitors who’ve fallen in love with this little mountain town just like I have.

StoryWyoming.org exists for one reason: to shine a light on all the wonderful things happening in Story.

We’ve got some truly special events here. From our famous Annual Yard Sale, where neighbors become bargain hunters and friends over lemonade and collectibles, to Story Days, which includes a parade, live music, kids activities and so much more —there’s always something worth celebrating here. And have you heard about the newest addition? Weihnachten—our beautiful Christmas market that’s already becoming a beloved tradition, full of warmth, lights, music, and that cozy hometown spirit you just can’t fake.

But it’s not just the big events. It’s the day-to-day life of Story that’s just as meaningful. There are regular gatherings, workshops, fundraisers, music nights, and church suppers—hosted by local organizations that care deeply about this place and its people. StoryWyoming.org was built to help all of us stay connected to it all.

That’s why the site has a Community Calendar—so no one has to miss out on what’s happening. And a section called “The Life of Story”, where we post updates, stories, photos, and any little nuggets of news that make you feel more connected to your neighbors.

We also created a Community Directory to make it easier to find and support local organizations and businesses. Whether you’re looking for the fire department's non-emergency number, a nearby artist’s gallery, or a phone number to sign up for a potluck—our goal is to put it all in one easy place.

Because in a town like Story, connection matters. Neighbors matter. People matter.

This site is just a tool to help us all stay in the loop, celebrate what’s good, and support each other a little more easily. And sure, it takes time and effort to keep it all up to date—but you know what? It’s worth it. Because this is my home. Story is our home.

I’m proud to volunteer my time for this project because I believe in the spirit of Story. I believe in the people here. I believe in the power of small communities that care big.

So if you’ve got an event coming up, a local business you want folks to know about, a story worth telling, or just something beautiful to share—please reach out. This website is yours as much as it is mine. Let’s keep telling the story of Story… together.

With gratitude,

Mark Caudle

Proud resident and neighbor
