STORY LIONS CLUB 2022 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS


Cassandra Guelde, and Gracie Brown- amounts were $1500 each.

Cassandra Guelde won last year - attending UW, also was Miss Jr Wyoming , daughter of Story residents
Gracie Brown also won last year while attending Sheridan college, now moved on to UW, daughter of Story resident

GIFTS TOWARDS HIGHER EDUCATION GUIDELINES

COMMITTEE:
The Story Lions Club Higher Education Gift Committee shall comprise of the officers and board. All higher education Gifts business shall be recommended to the club at the regular meeting and voted on by the members in attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. An applicant must be a resident of Story or Banner. Applicant must provide proof of residency - proof will consist of things such as Driver's License, Student ID, Utility Bill, or other documents showing the applicants (or parents) physical address.
  2. Applicants must have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5-4.0 or the equivalent. A current transcript must accompany the application.
  3. A gift applicant must be a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or trade school, or a recent High School graduate, or graduating High School Senior. All applicants must include proof of enrollment (such as registration for classes, tuition payment, dorm payment, etc.) for the upcoming term or semester with their application.
  4. Requests for applications will be posted at the Story Post Office, Library, Story Store, and Women's Club.

Applications, Transcripts, Proof of Residency and Enrollment should be mailed to the Story Lions Club, P.O. Box 3, Story WY, 82842. Please include your address, phone number, and email address with application.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
All gift applicants must submit a letter (500 words or less) which include, but not be limited to, the following:
  1. Your goals and objectives.
  2. Why you are applying for the gift.
  3. Recognition or accomplishments you have received.
  4. Other information that tells us more about you as an individual, including extracurricular and community activities.

CRITERIA
The awarding of the Lions Gifts towards higher education will be determined based on the following criteria:

Scholastic Achievement (cumulative GPA, AP classes, etc.)

Extracurricular Activities (school related)

Community Activities and Employment
GIFTS TOWARD HIGHER EDUCATION
The Story Lions Club will award gifts for the fall semester. The Story Lions Club in its sole and absolute discretion, has the authority to determine the gift recipients(s) and the authority to approve or deny the awarding of the gifts. Other requirements do exist.

PAYMENT METHODS AND AMOUNTS
Each gift will be for $500 (or more). The Story Lions Club will award two or more gifts each year depending on the number and quality of the applicants and the financial position of the Lions Club. Payment will be made directly to the recipient (s) the fourth Thursday of July.

DEADLINES AND LIMITATION OF AWARDS
Applications for the fall semester will be accepted until July 1st. As long as the applicant meets the Qualifications and Application requirements, no limit will be made on the number of years a student may apply for the Story Lions Club Gift for Scholars.
