What is SWAMP?  We are running a new program this summer for those of you who may want to have your slash and brush (no pine needles) chipped, rather than burn it. We are making available to the residents of Story a wood chipper with operator. We are Cost Sharing this $50/hr service with you. We will pay 65% ($32.50) and you will pay 35% ($17.50) per hour. There will be a one hour minimum with 1/4 hour billing increments after that. The chipper will come to your property and the chips will stay on your property unless you make other arrangements to have them hauled off. Payment of your share must be made at the time of service. Checks will be made out the 'Story Fire District'.   if you are interested in learning more or scheduling this service. We are doing this on a trial basis and hope to run the program through August or September. This is part of our ongoing 'Story Wildfire Assessment & Mitigation Plan'.
