ALTERNATIVES TO BURNING

  • Make a compost pile out of small organic materials

  • Burn limbs in your fireplace or stove

  • Till vegetative waste materials into the soil.

  • Haul debris to the Sheridan Landfill (it's free and they compost it).

BE CAREFUL WITH FIRE.

DO:

Consider Alternatives to Burning.

Be Considerate of your neighbors.

Call your Fire chief and/or Sheridan Police Department Dispatch Office shen conducting flarge burns.

Call WDEQ-AQD when conducting burns over 1250 cubic feet (More stringent regulations apply).

Be aware of weather conditions.

Be aware of Fire Restrictions.

DO NOT:

Burn Prohibited Materials such as tires or other natural or synthetic rubber products, oil or oil filters, insulated wire, plastic, PVC, tar, tarpaper, asphalt, asphalt shingles, railroad ties, painted or treated wood products, batteries, hazardous waste, explosives or ammo, asbestos in any form, or materials which cause dense smoke discharges.
